July Blog Hop

This month's Blog Hop challenge was to use text as a background. I haven't done that in a while. I chose to use the script paper from Raspberry Fizz patterned paper, and I went crazy and made two cards. Yahoo. For this first card, I traced a Maya Road flower, knotted a piece of ribbon and poked it through a hole in the center. The New Leaf ribbon is just looped a little and adhered to itself. This second card didn't turn out quite as well as I had envisioned, but it works fine. It's for a friend of mine, and I just wanted to have a bunch of different kinds of hearts to represent different personalities. Card #1 Paper: PTI White, Bitty Dot black pattern paper, Raspberry Fizz, RF patterns Other: Maya Road flower for template, Raspberry Fizz and New Leaf satin ribbon, dimensional tape Card #2 Paper: PTI White, black, RF patterns Ink: Versafine Onyx, SU PassionPink Stamps: PTI Heart Prints

Masculine & Feminine

It's not often that I need to make a masculine card more feminine, but yesterday I did just that. I wanted to use this layout for a friend, but it needed a little something girly. The first card is the Father's Day card I made for my husband, and the second is one of a set I made for my friend. I added a little glitter via a clear Stardust pen on a few leaves, swapped the twill for a scalloped polka dot, and shifted the focal image just a bit. Voila! Card #1: Paper: PTI White, Dark Chocolate, SU Certainly Celery Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Versamark Stamps: PTI Father Knows Best, Pond Life, Out On a Limb Other: PTI Dark Chocolate twill ribbon Card #2: Paper: PTI white, Dark Chocolate, Bitty Dot pattern, SU Certainly Celery Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Versamark Stamps: PTI Father Knows Best, Everyday Classics, Out On a Limb Other: SU Scallop punch, Sakura clear Stardust pen

Friend Gift

A dear friend of mine is moving far away today. My whole family is sad--her boys and my boys played so well together. Our ten-year-olds actually share a birthday, and they have been the best of friends. So I put together a little gift for her of some monogrammed cards. She has been so encouraging to me in my card making, and for some reason, she is a big fan. Love her! I embossed With Sympathy again in white on SU Brocade Blue cardstock. I wanted to do something a little different with the monogram, so I created a little loopy flag thing out of paper to go underneath. I was channeling Claire for a moment :) Here's a closeup: Paper: PTI White, SU Brocade Blue, Michael's black Ink: Versamark, Versafine Onyx, SU Brocade Blue Stamps: PTI With Sympathy, Trajan Alpha, B&C Monogram Edition Other: Filigree Embossing Powder, dimensional tape
